To enhance the competitiveness of organizations, the establishment of an effective KMS has become an important weapon for the enterprises to improve employees’ job performance. This paper integrates the basics of the theories from Information System Success Model (IS Success Model), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Computer Self-Efficacy to investigate the effect of employees’ computer self-efficacy and KMS applications on their job performance, from the perspective of information technology. The Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) Inc.--one of the world’s leading providers of semiconductor manufacturing services in high-tech industries is used as the research subject for the case study. The survey is conducted through the KMS questionnaire function to run questionnaire notifications, surveys, and collections, under the analysis of Structural Equation Modeling and Binary Logistic Regression to verify the schema and hypotheses proposed in the paper. As a result, the study indicates that (1) The subject employees’ KMS Applications have a significant impact on their job performances, revealing "knowledge utilization" and "knowledge internalization” as the key factors. (2) The employees’ perceived usefulness on the KMS Applications and perceived ease of use towards perceived usefulness both show positive effect with distinction. Similarly, employees’ computer self-efficacy towards perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and KMS Applications all appear to be the same result as well; employees’ perceived ease of use towards the KMS Applications yet displays no significant impact. (3) The employees’ computer self-efficacy does not relate crucially with their job performances in this study. Finally, this paper proposes some practical recommendations to the ASE Inc., in the meantime academic and practical implications as well as directions for future research are discussed.
