Indeed, the sinology in Malaysia and Singapore regions are quite distinctive and attractive. It is also closer to the original Chinese studies in China, however, too little research have been done in the past. The close relationship in between SEA sinology and mainland Chinese studies was actually a huge contribution by the scholars who migrated from China to SEA in the 1930s. There was one famous man named Yun-tsiao Hsu, who gained the most attention among all scholars. The findings about Hsu are mostly about his biography and his academic achievements. Therefore, the significant role of studying Hsu in details was not well studied in the sinology academia. This article took Hsu as an important study case to investigate how the Chinese education was brought to Malaysia and Singapore, as well as the huge efforts put into this particular field by everyone in the academia. It has also given the readers a deeper understanding to the uniqueness of sinology in Malaysia and Singapore. On the other hand, it has successfully re-emphasized Hsu and the development of sinology in Malaysia and Singapore. This book consists of 5 chapters. The first chapter works as the introduction, explaining the objectives of this research, as well as the research methods, based on the researches done by other scholars in the past. Chapter two is divided into two parts. The first part of this chapter enlightens the readers about the relationship of Malaysia, Singapore and China based on some history manuscripts; while the second part of it gives a brief picture about the current situation of Chinese studies as well as the Chinese education system in Malaysia and Singapore. Next, the introduction about Hsu and his academy and his research intercommunion come in play in the first part of chapter three, and the explanation about his influence and significance could be found in the second part of this chapter. Hsu’s academic intercommunion is massive yet complicated. Therefore, chapter four of this book played a role in discussing about Hsu’s scholastic methods, spirit, and contribution via compile,translation,annotations,writing, book collection. Chapter five serves as the summary and conclusion.
