The government schedules the rigorous inspection mechanism to confirm and guarantee the security of its use including model inspection, melting inspection, structure inspection, completion inspection and the required manufacture inspections. The periodic and condition change inspections are also held during the usage of them. The manufacture and condition change inspections are used to confirm the essential safety performance of the equipment while the periodic inspection mainly proves the deterioration influence of the equipment. According to the current regulations, usually the deadline of the periodic inspection is fixed within an opening date. If it is unable to run, a special case or substitutes will be allowed to extend the inspection time by the permission of authority. Recently, a new tendency has been taken in the international for inspection with the equipment risk consideration to reduce the unnecessary examination as well as resources waste. It has been cognized to be the best inspection period by referring the remaining life of the devices or the pipelines. In order to solve the risky equipment problems in the life cycle, a lot of the related technical information and engineering knowledge need to acquire, store, transfer and share to the site workers. Meanwhile, a Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) strategy is also required to provide its proper and reasonable inspection cycle time. This article focus on the analysis in view of the risky equipment inspection and examination. We use Google Docs, the cooperation platform and on-line forum software to establish “the risky equipment inspection knowledge management application prototype”. It has been achieved the related knowledge exchange and also obtained some valuable knowledge feedback. Finally, the costs of the equipment inspections are hopefully reduced.
