The purpose of this article is using wired telephone network to spread to control the relay equipment and security system. The proposed system used the telephone communication network, named dual tone multi-frequency dialing telephone system, as the control interface. In the system, an MCU called 8051 was also used to link with dual tone multi-frequency generator (UM91531). At the same time, a dual tone multi-frequency receiver (HT9170) was applied to receive digital signals which were captured to control a power switch. In order to store phone number and control information, an E2PROM AT24C08 was used. Additionally , a reusable-recording chip named APR9600 was added into the system to work as voice recording and playback. On the other hand, the MCU in the system automatically detected the vibrating bell signal from a telephone and connected the calling number in the applications of home appliances control. Then the dual tone multi-frequency receiver decoded the received phone signals into digital values which can be used to control a power switch. In the control process, the voice prompts were fed back to ensure the accuracy in order to achieve home appliances control remotely. In the applications of home security, the MCU in the system also automatically detected the signals from sensors to ensure safety. If any abnormality was occurred, an automatic phone call was dialed to the owner by using of dual tone multi-frequency generator.
