Summary: | 碩士 === 國立勤益科技大學 === 資訊工程系 === 98 === Digital medical images, usually possessing a large amount of data, can be processed in such a manner that the rapidity, reliability and integrity can be attained during transmission. In turn, this thesis aims to integrate coding and encryption technologies into the study of mammograms. A lossy compression technique is applied to yield a higher compression ratio. The price paid is that the significant features of image is lost, leading to a misdiagnosis. To this end, the tumor is extracted from the breast in a mammogram. The entire tumor region remains intact, while the rest is compressed at various compression rates. It is expected that the image can be effectively compressed as a means to cut the transmission bandwidth while preserving the region of significant features. A Hamming code of two dimensions is further bought up as a measure to recover the data destroyed, a problem suffered during transmission on the Internet, on account of either channel noise or interference. The reliability of such transmission can be thus enhanced, and integrity can be reached by use of encryption technology as an approach to achieve authentication.
