| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 台灣文學研究所 === 98 === With a special background in being an overseas Chinese in Malaysia, Zhong Yi-wen is a creative writer and a scholar. Thanks to her extraordinary growth environment, her prose shows a diversity of characteristics and she becomes an important writer to whom Taiwan literary circles pay a good deal of attention. Starting from textual analysis, viewing mainly through time and space domains, referring to relative references and concluding by literature theories, this study tries to understand time and space words, the writing style, the thread of thought and the art performance in Zhong Yi-wen’s works. Thus, her place in prose can be revealed.
This study is divided into five chapters to address creative ideas of Zhong Yi-wen’s prose. Chapter one is an introduction, which states the motivation and the purpose of this study, literature reviews, discussions, study methods and the frame of contents. Chapter two is “Time: memory writing”, which discusses mostly on the time axis in Zhong Yi-wen’s works, including her life process, childhood dreams, and life images of her family. Chapter three is “Space: homeland writing”, which discusses space images in Zhong Yi-wen’s works and focuses mainly on her equator homeland and studying and living places in Taiwan. Chapter four is “Art characteristics of prose”, which analyses and concludes writing techniques in Zhong Yi-wen’s works. The last chapter is a conclusion, which summarizes previous contents, presents findings and concludes the value of Zhong Yi-wen’s prose.
