The speed and accuracy of automatic separating system for goods, along with the established standard operating procedures, would improve utilization of the auction market and the underwriters willingness to participate. The automatic system in Kaohsiung flower auction market integrates bar code information to the pneumatic cylinder-type separating machine for goods, making the goods to the corresponding path correctly. However, this mechanism is restricted to air cylinder stroke and goods sizes, resulting in difficulties of automation as well as being hard to improve the efficiencies
This study is aimed at the difficulties of this separating mechanism, designed a new chain-type mechanism according to the mechanical analysis. In this study, experiment was arranged by controlling the speed of both conveying belt and the motor frequency to find the impact of separating productivity for goods. With a product classifying system and various working parameters, the experimental results showed an average capacity of 2333 products per hour and a high stability as well. It is confirmed the possibility and offers an alternative operating system for relative markets.
