Expression of HER-2/neu in lung Adenocarcinoma

碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 生命科學院碩士在職專班 === 98 === The lung cancer is one of the leading tumor deaths in Taiwan. Many doctors and scientists have focused their time towards the prevention and treatment of lung cancer in the recent years. In this study, we focused on the performance of the cell growth factor receptor,HER-2/neu. We detected the expression of HER-2/neu mRNA by RT-PCR (15%), that of HER-2/neu protein by western blotting (17.65%), and immunohistochemistry (19.55%). Our results showed that the positive rate of HER-2/neu expression in lung adenocarcinoma is about 15~20%. According to these results, application of the Herceptin and Gefitinib to the lung cancer therapy needs the careful appraisal.
