Nowadays, it widely applies in the field of agriculture and horticulture. In order to estimate the residue for paclobutrazol in soil and crop, we utilize microdialysis combined with molecular imprinted polymer online solid phase extraction as pretreatments, and HPLC-UV for the determination. Microdialysis is a tool to concentrate and exclude the substrate in sample. Molecular imprinted polymer modified silica gel synthesis processes surface imprinting via sol-gel process. The pre-column packed by molecular imprinted polymer modified silica gel has high selectivity and provides enrichment also. Factors which affect this experiment are well discussed to optimize the analysis conditions and be applied for real samples. Online microdialysis and molecular imprinted polymer solid phase extraction coupled with HPLC-UV is a rapid, convenience and cost-less method for the determination of paclobutrazol. It can still reduce the interference of the substrate and provide high selectivity. This method is expected to be utilized to analyze the paclobutrazol residue in the field of agriculture, horticulture, biochemistry, food and environment in the future.
