For instance, greens in a park associates with vivacity as well as joy, and warm yellows in a library design will create tranquility and coziness. Colors and sounds surrounded in a space directly reflecting the atmosphere of that space. This study followed above phenomenon and tried to use the artificial neural network technology to develop an intelligent interaction system by changing colors in space to adjust background music. In this study, the colors in space are taken as the inputs of the artificial neural network system and computer-induced digital music will be its responding outputs. The architecture of the artificial neural network system presented in this research is a three-layer network structure with three input nodes, one middle layer with 10 nodes, and seven nodes in output layer. We implicated seven different colors to teach the artificial neural network to learn the corresponding music effects. Experiments in this study showed that the artificial neural network system has successfully driven a digital music generator to play corresponding background music according to seven designated colors displayed in a space. Furthermore, in the case of that the color presented in a space which is not been tough before, this intelligent system can also generate new background music (which is not deliberately designed by the original designer) to therefore achieve an intelligent interaction effect.
