The main purposes of this study were to realize how the environmental literacy the junior high school students in Chai-yi County have and if it has the correlations between the environmental educations in Nine-Year Consistent Curriculum. The data of the study is collected by questionnaires. The subjects are the ninth grade and the seventh grade students from the Junior High School in Chai-yi County. The samples are 303 the 9th grade and 308 the 7th grade students randomly selected from the junior high schools in Chai-yi County by stratified random sampling method. Results of the research showed that the attitudes toward the 9th grade and the 7th grade students in Nine-Year Environmental Education Curriculum Cognitive Scale and Junior High School Students’ Environmental Literacy Scale are positive related. The attitudes toward the 9th grade are more positive than the 7th grade students. However, both of them are short of the environmental actions. It is noteworthy that students participating the environmental protection activities have obviously positive attitudes toward the environmental literacy. But it doesn’t show any differences in parents’ occupations and the resource of getting the environmental information. Results of the research discovered that the junior high school students’ environmental literacy have significantly correlations with Nine-Year Consistent Environmental Education Curriculum, and the regressive model also showed that the cognitive of Nine-Year Consistent Curriculum has great influence on the students’ environmental literacy. Besides, the variable explanatory of the 9th grade and the 7th grade students’ environmental literacy is the environmental action, and the second one is the environmental values and attitudes. And the last one is the experience of the environmental skill.
