Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 模具工程系 === 98 === In recent years, the trend of LCD (Liquid crystal display; LCD) design is towards much thinner, lighter, smaller and power saving. The key part for LCD thinning – LGF research is the topical subject in this thesis.
In this paper we discuss the phenomenon of lower optical intensity, poor brightness uniformity and hot spot issue near light source while the flat cross-channel V-CUT Guide Film (Light Guide Film) is applied in 5” LED BLU.
This article is divided into two parts. The first topic is about insufficient light intensity and poor uniformity in BLU. In general, the circle dot or V-cut structure would be used in light guide pattern design; And V-cut is usually adopted to gain higher brightness performance. The pattern of V-cut on the bottom surface of LGP might be gradual-change of groove with the distance from light source, or non-equidistant arrangement processed on LGP. However, in order to meet the demand for mass-production and time-saving, we try to find the fixed parameters and spacing of V-cut micro structure processed on the bottom side of LGF with two-bearing rolls. The second part is discussed how to eliminate hot spot near light source. Generally it could be improved by adding micro structures near the light-inlet area of LGP. In this article we set discontinuous longitudinal V-cut groove with different groove depth and spacing to analyze the optical simulation. By comparing simulation results with actual measurement value, the central brightness and uniformity of BLU could meet the requirement specification(4250 cd/㎡, 80%).
