However, to accomplish dental implant treatment with 100-percent successful rate is still a challenge to researchers because various reasons could lead to implant failure such as inappropriate loading conditions or patients with osteoporosis. Additional, it is evidenced that molar teeth treated by dental implant have higher failure rate compared with other regions, and overloading is the main factor causes implant failure. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate factors could cause overloading in dental implant at molar region by using finite element analysis method, and to propose an improvement for implant body with supporting from experiment data. The analysis is conducted under conditions of different bite forces, different loading directions, and patients with osteoporosis. It is expected that the main outcome of current research would contribute to amelioration of dental clinical diagnosis and treatments. The results demonstrate that bite force as well as loading direction and especially osteoporosis affect on stress distribution in dental implant noticeably. As expected, both simulation and experiment data proves that the modified design of dental implant improves performance of implant system considerably. Cheung-Hwa Hsu 徐中華 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 70 zh-TW
