Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 機械與精密工程研究所 === 98 === Nowadays, the development risk for electronic components is from the tiny-oriented phase. However, the thermal solution requirement is still increasing. Thus, this thermal issue is becoming serious. That is the reason why the fan makers are going to design fans with high P-Q performance. This study is to analyze the performance and noise of axial fan (40×40×10 mm3) for car media system. Generally, most studies are focused on the impeller design, but seldom on studying the rib of the frame. Due to face that the rib is also a factor affecting the air flow, it plays an important role as well. This study is employs numerical methods of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methodology combine with the analysis software to discuss the thickness and geometry of rib of the frame. Besides, it will simulate the P-Q curve of the fan for each rib. Based on this simulation comparison, the influence between the rib and P-Q curve is understood.
According to this study, by comparing the various rib’s geometries, the design of type 2 obtain the higher P-Q performance. For the comparison of rib height ratio, negligible difference between the three type is found. Beside, we find that the angles of velocity direction in the outlet are significantly different.
