It uses strategy, culture change and a wide variety of management and statistical tools, integraed together as a way of implementing project programs as well as objectives. By using this method, the errors can be to the most extent excluded from the work process and the least variations can be reached. As such, both cost and time can be saved which can be perceived as a philosophy. Valve spring is applied to the key componetns of motorcycle clutch, the quality of which, whether good or bad, will influence the safety of driving. This study is to explore the effectiveness of valve spring used in motorcycle clutch, in which DMAIC’s six sigma is introduced in the manufacturing process. Coupled with experimental design, it is expected to gain the key factors influencing manufacturing process capability and reach its optimal combination level. By using the method of statistical test with the significance of 95% confidence, the mean of quality characteristics falling from original 20.6 to 2.43 can be assured. This successfully verifies the process improvement may enhance manufacturing process level, which may save 530 thousand internal cost as well as the reduction of previous operation time of manufacturing process into half. This will effectively increase company’s competitive power. Gu-Hong Lin 林谷鴻 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 60 zh-TW
