In recent years, this industry, however, has been facing intense competition in the global market. We investigate the current status and the trends of value chain migration in valve industry in Taiwan by using the Value Chain Migration Model, which includes “Production Offshoring”, “Services Offshoring” and “Innovation Offshoring”, with the combination of “TEMPOL Model” and “Comparative Advantage Analysis Model”. This study also evaluates the impact of regional economics on Taiwan. Finally, Diamond Model is used to conclude the research findings in order to provide Taiwanese government and businesses with some strategy planning. The results of this study show that valve industry in Taiwan has experienced the mode of “Production Offshoring” before; whereas it is in the mode of “Services Offshoring” because of the requirement to set up footholds in various countries. In 2009, the percentage that Taiwan exported to ASEAN+6 accounted for 22.3%, among whom China accounted for the highest percentage (8.6%). Taiwan needs to pay 5% to 7% for export tariff, or it has to shift its value chains to the member states of ASEAN+6 for free tariff preference. Cheng-Ter Ho 何正得 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 84 en_US
