Whether the new group can attain higher effectiveness without negative influence by organizational changes? This study aims to examine the relationships between group heterogeneity, person-group fit and the effectiveness of group. A questionnaire survey was conducted, a total of 184 questionnaires were distributed and 173 questionnaires were returned, including 33 departments. The return rate was 94%. Stepwise regression analysis was using to examine the hypotheses. The results showed: 1.Group heterogeneity is positively related to person-group fit. 2.Person-group fit is positively related to group effectiveness. 3.Group heterogeneity is positively related to group identification. 4.Person-group fit does not medicate the relationship between group heterogeneity, and group effectiveness. 5.Group heterogeneity has a significant positive effect on group performance.
