Description
Summary:碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 環境工程研究所 === 98 === Re-refining and reusing used lube oils is both environmentally friendly and economical due to increasing costs of both oil and disposal. The purpose of this study is to improve the previous recycling process for improving the quality of the recycled lube oil. In this study, we took the centrifugation, filtration, flocculation, vacuum distillation, and bleaching clay adsorption technology individually to remove the asphalt, colourings and other impurities from used lube oils. In this work, 68% of the used oil feed could be distilled overhead and recovered. The obtained distillate with ASTM color L6.5 could be used as a re-refined lube oil. The residuum looks like a black coke consisting of oil additives originally blended with the oil as well as metallic and carbon impurities. This residuum is not suited for a burner fuel. The optimal operation conditions of vacuum distillation for used oil re-refining was obtained. The properties of re-refined lube oil were also investigated. Bleaching clay can be used to bleach the used lube oil under appropriate operating conditions. The regeneration of spent bleaching clay generated from the used-lube-oil re-refining industry has been studied. It is found that the regenerated bleaching clay obtained from calcining at 500 ℃ for 2 h has the same ability as the fresh clay in the decolorization of the used lube oil.
