The purpose of this study is to explore the physical and psychological disorders as the consequences of being confronted with different stresses, and the factors that cause these disorders to enlistees of different personal characteristics. The recent enlistees of a military base in the southern Taiwan are selected as the research subjects. Two questionnaires, pre-assessment and post-assessment, were administered to them. Pre-assessment includes ‘the assessment of the physical and psychological health’ and ‘the assessment of basic personalities’, while the post-assessment includes ‘the assessment of the physical and psychological health’ and ‘the assessment of basic characteristics’. Four hundred questionnaires were sent and 369 were retrieved; the retrieve rate is 92.25 %. For those retrieved, the effective retrieve rate is 92.95 % with 343 valid and 26 invalid (7.04%). The assessment of the physical and psychological health is to assess the subjective psychological torment and discomfort syndromes of individuals. The analysis shows significantly positive correlations between each sub-measurements of ‘the assessment of the physical and psychological health’ and ‘the assessment of basic personalities’, meaning that individuals with negative characteristics tend to have psychological torment when confronted with stressful events. Results suggest the radical changes between military and civilian lives are an immense source of stress for those newly enlisted with negative characteristics, thus, causing syndromes of discomfort and complaints to them physically and mentally. none none 翁慧卿 郭信智 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 75 zh-TW
