Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用心理學系碩士班 === 98 === The objectives of this study were to asses the impact of college students’ tendencies toward narcissism on their love relationship quality. The tendency of narcissism includes four factors: Exploitativeness/Entitlement, Leadership/Authority, Superiority/Arrogance, and Self-absorption/Self-admiration. The author examines each factor to see if they have brought about positive or negative influence on romantic relationship quality. Under the method of Questionnaire Survey, the author recruits college students by convenience sampling. Accordingly, 367 effective samples are collected, including 176 men and 191women. Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) and Scale of Romantic Relationship Quality (SRRQ) are two main tools in this research. Critical findings are as follows: (1)The result shows that the male college students get higher scores than the female do on Exploitativeness/Entitlement. There is no significant gender difference in other three factors. (2)On the romantic relationship quality of college students, there is no significant difference in gender. (3)The scores of college students who have love affairs are significantly different from the scores of those who do not on Leadership/Authority, Superiority/Arrogance, and Self-absorption/Self-admiration, respectively. However, there is no significant difference between these two groups on Exploitativeness/Entitlement. (4)The more narcissistic a college student tends to be, the worse romantic relationship quality she owns. In addition, the most negative impact on a romantic relationship results from the factor Exploitativeness/Entitlement. In brief, the tendency of narcissism affects the romantic relationship quality among college students. The result reveals that Exploitativeness/Entitlement has the most negative influence. For psychological and educational application, two suggestions are brought up in the latter part.
