The works during this period are full of unique and artistic expressions and which includes a wide range kinds of literature such as Historical Plays, Poetry and Argumentative Writings. This development was from not only the self-development of the literature with time but also the connection of the existing real life society system during that time. The sprout of Tang legends and placing the importance of the imperial examination were parallel prospered. Those phenomena were certainly not accidental. There is interlinking between these two matters. First, looking into the developing trace of the sprout, prosperity and decay of Tang legends as well as its imperial examination of each throne during Tang dynasty, this research find the standards vary for selecting learned people, causing great impacts on those candidates’ study goals. With the increasing focus on essays and poetry as the subjects of imperial examinations, it had become a primary goal to pass the imperial examinations and earned the award as a learned person. Those learned people had the education of various literatures, they dedicated and created a great deal of literature works, they became the main producer of Tang literature. But the prosperity of Tang legends were not from the numbers of legends creation by these highly educated learned people, but from the literature gathering of those awarded learned people. Normally, they held parties, gathered in the parties, spoke or talked about something out of ordinary, together with their characters of curiosities, favors of new things and romantic attitudes; they made a perfect match with the literatures that create Tang legends. Those learned people expressed their deep inside mind by writing legends. Those legends exposed their life goals of being awarded learned people or power officers, or marring a few fine women. By combing Tang legends and learned people, the Tang dynasty was advanced to the utmost prosperity on creation of Tang legends.
