Someof the powerful feudal princes became dictators.The other vulnerable countries were attached to powerful ones in order to survive. Let’s take Zheng and Song for example. Zheng and Song were located in the Central Plains strategic pass. During the competition for hegemony between Jin And Chu for years, they both focused on the two, Zheng and Song.The impact of prosperity or survival of the vulnerable countries depended on the encounter and cooperation between monarchs and their ministers. On the other hand , Jin and Chu had contended for Zheng and Song for nearly a hundred years . Which one were Zheng and Song attached to ? It meant quite differently. So it was whether the monarch was a great talent leader or not, and if the ministers were wise and virtuous. Did both of them dedicate to maintain the dignity and renew their own country ? As to Zheng and Song, all these were the most important causes at that time.
