The supply chain of semiconductor industry includes design, manufacturing, packaging, testing, equipment, components and materials. In 2008, the output value of Taiwan's semiconductor industry is about NTD 1.3 trillion, but the output value of semiconductor equipment and components is only NTD 12.8 billion. According to the estimation of International Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Association, the market size of Taiwan semiconductor equipment is approximately NTD1,612 billion in 2008 and the Taiwan semiconductor equipment self-sufficiency rate is around 7 ~ 8%. Thus, it reveals that Taiwan is relatively week in the semiconductor equipment industry. In this research, the competitive strategy of semiconductor single-wafer wet etching process equipment industry is studied and discussed by case study method. A successful case of the industry-leading companies is studied to discover its key success factor and the competition strategy through the analysis of the overall industry external environment and company internal strengths and weaknesses. Besides, the theoretical strategy in literature discussion and the industrial analysis is used to examine the competitive strategy of actual case company. In this research, conclusions and specific recommendations are proposed according to research findings in order to provide a reference for Taiwan's manufacturers of related industries and enterprises that plan to enter the equipment industry in the future. 林衛理 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 91 zh-TW
