Besides, the study analyzed the difference in current situation of teachers with different background variables participating web-based learning communities. According to the results of the study, some suggestions were provided for educational authorities, webmasters, schools, teachers, and further researchers. The objects of the study were the junior high school teachers in Taipei County in 2009 School year. 766 junior high school teachers were assessed with Questionnaire of Participating Web-based Learning Communities of Junior High School Teachers. Data obtained from the survey were processed and analyzed via SPSS 12.0 for Windows statistical software in number distribution, percentage, average, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé Post-Hoc comparison method. The major findings of the study were as follows: I. The current situation in Taipei County teachers’ participating web-based learning communities level is medium-low. II. The level of the attitude toward Taipei County teachers’ participating web-based learning communities is medium-high. III. The level of Taipei County teachers’ overall professional growth of participating web-based learning communities is medium-high. IV. The level of Taipei County teachers’ difficulty in participating web-based learning communities is medium-low. V. There are significant differences in the current situation、attitude、overall professional growth and difficulty of Taipei County teachers with different sexes、marriages、ages、seniorities, and educational backgrounds participating web-based learning communities.
