Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 心理學系 === 98 === Previous researches on technician had been focusing more on foreign labor than on transitioning from technician to managerial position. This research has been designed to investigate the qualitative aspects of this dynamic process of transition and their modes of adjustment.
Three participants from manufacturing industry with tenures of 11, 21 and 27 respectively are interviewed and studied in this program. Personal life and work stories are collected from interviewers and then are analyzed to understand the dynamic process of role transitions.
The result reveals that different modes of adjustment were adopted, but all demonstrated the same trait of transitioning from task-oriented towards people-oriented. Nevertheless, skills still play an important part throughout the process. Technician’s personal persistence also affects the outcome of this adjustment.
Based upon the findings from this study, suggestions have been recommended to the academics and practitioners.
