In the present investigation , an analytical model for the joint of a laminated composite pipe is established. The model consists of composite pipe, adhesive material and coupling. The stress distributions at the joint under combined loadings is performed by using finite element analysis software. High adhesive peel stress and shear stress are found at the joint section. It is believed that these two stresses will cause failure at the joint of composite pipe and coupling. The effects of ply orientations of composite pipe , thickness of adhesive and length of the coupling on the adhesive peel stress and shear stress are also conducted.
