Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所碩士在職專班 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to understand the relations among voluntary service motivation, service types and self-concept of adolescents. The study was conducted through the survey method. Questionnaire included basic personal data, service motivation scale and self-concept scale. The total sample of 482 vocational high school students was from Changwha County. The collected data were analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, Independent t-Test, One-way ANOVA, Two-way ANOVA, Pearson’s Correlation, and Multiple Regression through SPSS 12.0.
Major findings of this study were as the followings:
1. The voluntary service motivation could be categorized as self-realization and self-growth, service for others and the society, seeking recognition, and realizing other persons’ expectation.
2. On service motivation, there was a significant difference on different school years; while, there were no significant differences on different gender, school system, religion, and parent’s participating of volunteer works.
3. On the matter of weather participating in self-concept of voluntary service or not, there are significant in female volunteer, vocational high school students, second grades students. There are no significant difference in male volunteer, high school students, first grades, third grades and parents participating.
4. On service motivation, there were no significant differences on different service types. However, on self-conception, there were significant differences in different service types.
5. There is a significant positive correlation between motivation and self-concept.
6. The analysis of step-wise multiple regressions found that self-realization and self-growth could effectively predict the all aspect of self-concept.
