碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士在職專班 === 98 === The metal glass furniture in Taiwan has become the main stream because the internal iron and steel industries like China Steel, Yieh Loong Steel Corporation, and Taiwan Glass Industry can provide stable raw materials and the manufacture process is promoted to be automatic. Their future target is going to create their own brand image and they emphasize on originality and inventing designing. The necessary policies and means to fulfill the upgrading of industries are to know how to promote the value added of products by making use of the industrial designing technique to open up and develop new products. For these reasons, after this study designed three high valued modern tables and practically interviewed with four furniture businessman, they commented many-sided on this design proposal by marketing, producing cost evaluation, structural rationalization, and designing style and we finally concluded some norms that should be followed when designing high valued modern glass table as below. 1. The models of four feet tables are too traditional to be the designing style of modern glass table. 2. The designing condition of easily taking apart and fabricating is needed. 3. Avoid painstakingly to emphasize on cultural style elements. 4. High valued modern tables collocating 15~19 mm glass are the main stream. 5. The qualities of every single element are the key point that will influence whole vision. 6. Square tables are more generous of vision. 7. The main stream about the modeling of high valued glass tables are the very simple shape formed of perpendicular and horizontal. We tested and verified this study with practical designing cases and expected that the designing norms can provide personages of relevant industries a reference when proceeding a designing.
