Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士在職專班 === 98 === The purpose of this study is to explore residents’ sense of community and the cognition on the effects of community empowerment in Taichung City Nantun District Maple Community. It is hoped that the research results can be provided to related departments and community groups as a reference for community empowerment.
This study conducted questionnaire survey and qualitative interviews. The interview subjects were residents of Maple Community who are over 20 years old, and the “Questionnaire on Maple Community residents’ sense of community and the cognition on the effects of community empowerment” was used as the research tool. A total of 450 questionnaires were released, and 373 effective samples were collected; the valid return rate was 82.89%. The qualitative interviews were conducted on the primary members involved in community empowerment as well as community residents. The content of the interviews focused on their views on the effects of community empowerment. Results of this study are as follows:
1. Residents of Maple Community have a medium degree of sense of community, the aspect of “community concern” is the highest, “community participation” is the lowest.
2. Residents who are female, over 61 years of age, married, with children under 18, have education levels of elementary school or less, have lived at the community for over 20 years, have ownership over their houses, and have official community positions have higher sense of community and the cognition on the effects of community empowerment.
3. Residents of Maple Community have a medium degree of the cognition on the effects of community empowerment, the aspect of “perception of economic activity effects” is the highest, and the aspect of “perception of cultural education effects” is the lowest.
4. There is a positive correlation between residents’ sense of community and the cognition on the effects of community empowerment. Higher the residents’ sense of community, higher the cognition on the effects of community empowerment; higher the residents’ the cognition on the effects of community empowerment, higher the sense of community.
5. The community residents’ sense of community has a significant predictive ability for the cognition on the effects of community empowerment.
