Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 管理學院碩士在職專班 === 98 === The purpose of this research is to investigate the statusguo of junior high students, and the relationship emotional intelligence and social status. Finally, according to the result, suggestions were afford to improve education and future studies. The research is conducted through survey on public junior high school students of Central Taiwan. Research instruments adopted include a “personal background ques-tionnaire,” as well as scales to measure “emotional intelligence ,” “social status,” and “deviant behaviors”. All data are analyed by Descriptive Statistics, Independent t-Test, One-Way ANOVA, Chisquare Test, Multiple Regression. The major findings in this study were as following: 1. Junior high students perception on their emotional intelligence and deviant behavior are medium-high level. 2. In junior high students’ population variables, different background showed significant difference in emotional intelligence. 3. In junior high students’ population variables, different background showed significant difference in social status. 4. In junior high students’ population variables, different background showed significant difference in deviant behavior. 5. It is possible to predict the deviant behavior based on emotional intelligence and so-cial status.
