Although two kinds of anti-viral drugs have been developed, recent studies indicated that drug-resistant influenza viruses have been appeared. Ansiomeles indica O.Kuntze (Labiatae) is an annual and biennial herb. It has been reported that Ansiomeles indica with an anti-inflammation and anti-HIV activities. To understand the anti-influenza virus activity of Ansiomeles indica, plaque forming assay were performed. During viral adsorption, plaque formation was reduced by Ansiomeles indica along with decreased intra- and extracellular viral RNA. To address the molecular mechanisms for Ansiomeles indica in the inhibition of influenza virus infectivity, several assays were performed. Our data demonstrate that Ansiomeles indica did not inhibit influenza haemagglutinin, RNP activities. However, the neuraminidase activity seemed to be inhibited by Ansiomeles indica. Taken together, Ansiomeles indica is a potent herb with anti-influenza viral activity. Ju-Chien Cheng 鄭如茜 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 54 zh-TW
