Through the empirical study of personality traits, job related knowledge, and skills, we found that conscientiousness is an important indicator in personnel selection and promotion. According to the results, the expected skill and knowledge are different from the actual conditions. Furthermore, refers to the sill and knowledge for a first line supervisor, the communication skills, efficiency control, and quality control are perceived as important factors. However, the actual conditions are seen to be insufficient. Those indicated gap are expected to improve via on-job personnel trainees. With the required skills and knowledge in the food processing industry, the actual conditions can be adapted as reference for personnel recruitment and employment; and the expected conditions can be adapted to personnel trainee, competence tests, and occupation promotion.
