Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 光機電及資電控產業研發碩士專班 === 98 === In recent years there has been become a tendency to combine wireless communication with multimedia technologies for designing consumer electronics and electrical products. The purpose of this thesis is to apply wireless multimedia technologies for developing a low cost camera which includes video recording and wireless transmission of images. In this camera, a multimedia processor is used to integrate hardware components and peripherals, such as camera lens, TFT-LCD panel, memory card, wireless RF module, and USB port. The file system used by the wireless camera is FAT32 and video recording files are stored in AVI format. In addition to video recording, the camera is able to capture images and transmits them via wireless networks to other place for real-time remote monitoring. There are some major technologies for developing the camera, including integration of hardware components and peripherals, video compression and storage, and wireless image transmission. After hardware and software for the camera are accomplished, three experiments are designed in this thesis for testing the camera’s performance, including writing runtime of videos, performance of image transmission, and wireless transmission distance. According to the experimental results, the wireless network camera has been developed in this thesis can satisfy the specification of the client’s requirements and be well suited for constructing wireless home-monitoring systems.
