Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 98 === An average division method which can more early predict the occurrence of cutting chatter and Built-Up-Edge (BUE) for better pre-warning capability than the previous developed system was developed in this study. Friendly man-machine interface was written LabVIEW. The cutting vibration signal was collected in every second and divided into several pieces. Chatter diagnosis is based on the increase trend of each 4 consecutive divided signals. Adjusting spindle speed was used to suppress the cutting chatter. Diagnosis of BUE is based on whether the frequency of vibration signals decrease proportionally to the number of the cutting edges having BUE. When BUE occurs, the system will instantly send command to the CNC controller to stop the machine for cutter change. Experiment results have shown the developed system can detect the abnormality 1-2 seconds earlier than the previous system.
