碩士 === 中原大學 === 工業與系統工程研究所 === 98 === Facing the pressures of globalization and low cost competition from developing countries, lean production becomes a way for today’s modern manufacturing companies to survive and keep a continuity business. The main purpose of lean production is to reduce waste, so more output can be generated by using less input. Lean production becomes many enterprises’ foundation for running a business forever. This study applied lean production principles to an IC packaging and test company by reducing production time, reducing transportation time, and eliminating the waste. Value stream mapping showed the increase in productivity and the decrease in production cycle time. Customer satisfaction is therefore increased.
