Through systematic experiments, such as gasket compression and recovery test (according to GB/T12622-2008 test method B) and sealing performance (according to GB/T12385-2008 test method A), the effect for different structures and process parameters of spiral wound gasket on mechanical and sealing performance can be elucidated. The compression and recovery test results show that the current manufacturing quality of spiral wound gasket does not reach the industrial standard; the spiral wound gaskets with different fillers indicate diverse nature of mechanical and sealing properties. The sealing performance test results show that there are relationships between gasket stress and leakage rate、medium pressure and leakage rate. Basically, the greater the gasket stress and the smaller the medium pressure, the smaller the leakage rate.
