This research focuses on three case studies from the service industry: Great Roots Forestry Spa Resort, NewCB Party KTV and Eslite Bookstore, conducting an in-depth analysis of how each of the three studied enterprises strengthened its competitiveness through the applications of innovative strategies, based on the TRIZ method and Porter’s generic competitive strategies. The investigation was conducted through a series of in-depth interviews with the senior managements of the three studied corporations and by subjecting each one to the TRIZ process.For each studied enterprise in its respective field, five TRIZ specialists were consulted in surveys.The data collected and the interview contents were then further analyzed. The results showed that the TRIZ principles were applicable to all three case studies in their respective fields,and their TRIZ patterns of problems and solutions were drawn up for all three cases.Known from the interviews,the studied corporations can solve their problems through the TRIZ method when encountering problems in innovating.In conclusion,the solutions provided by TRIZ can be used by the businesses as guidelines when thinking up new innovative strategies.Furthermore, as concluded from the in-depth interviews,in order to satisfy the one-stop shopping needs of the consumers at the present,the studied corporations are all carrying out innovative strategies of differentiation to gain competitive advantages.Through combined services and multitudinous managements,the corporations aim to satisfy the consumers and to strengthen their competitiveness.
