Most of all, Internet serves as one of the most important channels for e-generation students in obtaining and sourcing for information; furthermore, extend the range of their interpersonal relationships. Various surveys have shown that Internet provides a quickest linkage and convenient environment in the areas such as E-learning, Online Game, Online Shopping, and Acquaintanceship. It proves to be a major setting for the modern generation to interact and communicate with other people. Although Internet has brought about convenience and entertainment to lives, it has considerably affected the everyday lives of individuals and created problems such as Internet crime, cybersex/sexuality on the Internet, Internet addiction etc… Among those behavioral issues, it is the Internet addiction which received the most of the attention (Zhi Hong Wang, 2009). Adolescent age group is considering at critical stage in developing an adult identity and behavior. Besides education and acquiring knowledge, it is important to develop self-recognition/social cognition and define their further career path. The usage of computer and Internet has provided a passageway to satisfy the needs.The purpose of this study is to probe into the Internet usage/online behavior and Internet addiction of the middle school high school students in Hsin Chu County. It is targeted to comprehend the different backgrounds attributed to online behavior and Internet addiction and correlation in between the two aspects. In order to reach the above objective, this research has adopted “online behavior questionnaire” and “Chen Internet Addiction Scale” as tools to apply on the school students. The total effective samples came down to 361 after taken a stratified random sampling. The statistic methods such as Percentage, Arithmetic Mean, Chi-Square Test, T Test, ANOVA etc… were adopted in this project. The results of this study in this particular school did show the differences in between different background categories and online behavior vs. Internet addiction. It also shown, the students who have tendency fallen to addiction are accounted for 35.5%, in which the 8th grade students are ranking at first place and accounted for 42.7%. Among the 8th grade students who go online on a daily basis and access Internet for over 3 hours at a time are making up to 43%, which surpasses rest of the students at different grades. As the result of this study, we speculated and concluded that the longer of the Internet access period the more addictive to the Internet.
