碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 資訊管理所暨醫療資訊管理所 === 98 === Globally, there are more than 220 million diabetics and 5 % of the global deaths was resulted from diabetes or diabetes complications. The medication and healthcare cost of diabetes is very high in every country. According to the report of Department of Health - Taiwan, the incidence of diabetes was 0.71% in Taiwan, and the expenditure of caring diabetes in both outpatient and inpatient was over 15 billion Taiwan Dollars in 2008. To provide the diabetics a self-service technology for self-care management, the author first built a mobile personal health record (mPHR) system, and introduced the function and service process of the system to diabetics and their major caregivers. A follow up questionnaire was then sent out to them to investigate their willingness of using the mPHR in self-care management and the factors that influence their willingness. The survey results showed that 47.5% of the respondents would use the mPHR, 37.8% of them would not, and 14.7% did no comment. Factors which significantly affect respondents’ willingness of using mPHR were their attitude, self-efficacy, subjective norm, personal contact with physicians, perceived usability and system compatibility of mPHR. This self-service technology, mPHR, may shed some light for diabetics to improve their self-care management and further save some expenditure of caring diabetics.
