With the coming of the aging society, countries all over the world actively develop the health monitor services of home- and community-care. The clinician can get the information of patients through Internet, regularly monitor the physiological parameters and provide remote health care. We often use Bluetooth to transmit the ECG signal in the past. Bluetooth is a wireless standard for the Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN). Bluetooth has limited addressing capability; a Piconet of Bluetooth contains eight devices at most. For the above reasons this study uses ZigBee, a wireless standard based on IEEE 802.15.4, which is a WPAN with low power consumption and high addressing capability. This study also combines the concept of telehealthcare. The Smart Tele-cardiac Surveillance has been implemented with remote monitoring and managing capability. The Smart Tele-cardiac Surveillance can diagnose cardiac diseases base on the user’s ECG signal, compute the HRV of the user’s signal, and eventually translate every record into personal health report. The medical staff can monitor the user’s ECG signal through Internet and remind users to do something when necessary by sending them MSGs and emails. Through the implementation of this study, the cardiac patient can obtain a long-term healthcare service without going to the hospital.
