Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治所 === 98 === The purposes of this study were (a) to investigate the influence of media viewing behavior on cognitive distortion and aggressive behavior; (b) to probe into the influence of media viewing behavior, cognitive distortion and aggressive behavior about on students in Chiayi County; (c) to verify various backgrounds, media viewing behavior and cognitive distortion over aggressive behavior. This study was on the basis of survey study. Taken by proposeful sampling, the sample consisted of 533 students from primary and junior high schools in Chiayi County. Individual Background Details Investigation, Media Viewing Behavior Investigation, Cognitive Distortion Scale, and Aggressive Behavior Scale are main instruments. One-way ANOVA, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, Multiple Regression Analysis and Path Analysis are applied to the analysis and statistic in the study. The major findings were as follows: In the aspect of the individual backgrounds influenced on cognitive distortion and aggressive behavior, there is a significant difference among sexes, grades and parents rearing attitude. In the aspect of cognitive distortion and aggressive behavior, cognitive distortion has the greatest association with the aggressive behavior. As to the media viewing behavior influenced on cognitive distortion and aggressive behavior, the longer students spend on media , or media violence, the higher degree of cognition distortion and more aggressive they become. Compared with individual background and media viewing behavior, cognitive distortion can account for the occurrence of aggressive behavior. Based on the results, some suggestions are to provide for parents , school counselors and further studies .
