The purpose of this research is to discuss the situation and relationships of those organizational behaviors which are happening on basic policemen in Taichung County: including work trouble, pressure reaction and organizational commitment. To understand the status of those new policemen after the diversity recruitment, we made an investigation to see whether their organizational behaviors, such as work difficult, pressure reaction and organizational commitment would be influenced by different ages, marriage status, the highest education before doing this job, major in related departments of law, work experience before being policemen, years of working experience, service units and areas.
Questionnaire investigation is taken on this research, in September 2009,
we passed out 131 questionnaires to 131 participants and got all 131 responded questionnaires. Exclude 15 policewomen and delete 9 invalid copies such as too many unanswered ones, and arbitrarily answered ones, we got 107 valid copies. The return rate of valid copies is 91.59%. The data was processed with, SPSS for windows 10.0, respectively on frequency distribution, percentage, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment.
There are some facts have been discovered as follows: In the field of ages, those policemen whose ages are above 30 years old are better in organizational commitment than those people whose ages are younger than 29 years old. In the range of marriage status of those policemen, there are no obvious differences no matter in work difficult, pressure reaction and organizational commitment. As regards the highest education before being a policeman , those policemen who graduated from high school feel heavier than those graduated from universities in work difficult, colleague relationship, duty burden, organizational commitment , even strained commitment . In the area of major in related department of law or not, the policemen who didn’t study in related departments of law in school feel stronger than who did, such as work difficult, colleague reationship, duty burden, pressure reaction, and also organizational commitment , unit commitment, strained commitment, work commitment, positive leadership. In the field of work experience before being policemen , the policemen who had work experience suit better than those who didn’t, like work difficult, organizational commitment ,unit commitment , strained commitment , work commitment , and positive leadership . In the field of years of working experience, the policemen who are less experienced get into more troubles than those who more experienced about work difficult, colleague reationship, duty burden, and family life. As for service units and areas , there are evident differences in social relationship and family life. Besides, people who work in cities feel much pressure than those who work in counties, including pressure reaction and other four actors.
According to the results and findings, specific suggestions and methods are provided for police organizations and following research:
The whole examinations and plans the duties for policemen, hold in-service trainings and enhance the basic knowledge and abilities for specialized police, carry out psychological counseling for the police, establish smooth promotion channel, cultivate wonderful parent- child relationship and proper leisure activities, the positive leadership of the unit should be revealed truly.
