| Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程學系 === 97 === Cheap in price, convenient for parking, motorcycles have become the most common vehicles in Taiwan. The arcade is a unique architectural features created in response to the special environment of the weather in Taiwan area. Generally the riders are fond of parking their motorcycles in the arcade for first choice. Once a person deliberately set fire to the motorcycles, it often caused significant casualties and property losses. Due to the consider of the constructing convenience, attractive and inexpensive, the majority of houses often decorated with tinder material which easily catch fir and spread fast. Inadequate fire-fighting facilities and lack of skill to use fire extinguisher, most part of the house owner could not put out the fire in the initial time. It is too late to wait for the rescue by fire brigade, because the fire intensity has widely spread out, and this is the reason why a fire caused serious loss of lives and properties. Building fire study gives valuable information for the public to do the fire prevention in normal time in orderto avoid or reduce the occurrence of similar disasters.
FDS software has been adopted to analyze a townhouse fire case on Chung-Yen Road, Kaohsiung city. The numerical method has been utilized for simulating physical phenomena, and the changes of the upper layer temperature and CO concentration in the fire. To explore the effect of the parameters on the fire escape, and use this information to remind people of preparing good fire prevention in peacetime.
