As the common existence of combustible goods and massive use of water and electricity instruments in public area, fires are easily happened. Meanwhile, the incidents of arson are increasing dramatically these days; safety issue is drawing people’s attention. The great amount of loss occurs, especially when the arson is on purpose. In order to reduce the loss, fire prevention in public entertainment area is undoubtedly important. The research is based on a KTV fire accident in Keelung city. The place located in an old building, the only stairs face to the front door and a narrow alley lies in the back, the circumstance made fire rescue more difficult. FDS developed by NIST is applied to analyze the fire model on the research. The distribution of parameters such as upper layer temperatures and the CO concentration are obtained after the calculation. The data is used to analyze the circumstances of the fire and allowable time of escape. The result might helpful for avoiding/reducing the similar accidents.
