The pole-face type and width can be changed in the rotor, and the stator materials adopt aluminum with back iron. The thrust of the linear induction motor under three structures is considered: (1)flat type,(2)ladder type, (3)embedded type. The influences of four parameters, i.e. ,pole-face width, wire diameter, width and thickness of the aluminum sheet structure, on the thrust force and thrust ripple of a linear induction motor with distributed windings are calculated. Simulation results and analytical curves are compared to determine the optimum structure shape, pole-face width, wire diameter, conductor width and thickness. These experimental factors are again optimized using the Tagauchi method to find the best design parameters of the linear induction motor.
