Summary: | 碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 護理學系暨研究所 === 97 === The propose of the study is to evaluate home care needs of mothers having children with congenital heart disease (CHD) after operation in one year from mother’s viewpoint. The quality research was based on the family systems theory (Montgomery & fewer, 1988). Each participant was interview with a semi-structured interview guideline, open-ended questions and quasi-experimental design. The interview data was used analyzation of content analysis. Before the study, a pilot study of interview data from two mothers in taking care of their children undergoing median sternotomy for cardiac surgery in one year was tested.
From March 2006 to May 2007, ten subjects were purposely chosen from a medical center in Taipei. The criteria for choosing caregivers of mothers were: the toddler diagnosis of CHD and had received median sternotomy for totally corrective cardiac surgery, aged between 6 months to 3 years old, and no complication of postsurgery.
The results of the study show that the home care needs of mother having children with CHD after operation in one year. The results can be summarized as followed: 1). Needs for children development. 2). Needs for knowledge of nursing education. 3). Needs for professionally medical assistance. 4). Needs of body functional nursing .5). Adjustment in sentimental cognition .6).Assistance in relationship adaptation. 7 ). Assistance in living quality. 8). Assistance in family pressure. 9). Assistance in positive attitude in personality development.
The findings provide the home care needs of mothers containing nursing education, medical professionalism, relationship adaptation and family interaction. The results of the study could be a useful reference for health professionals to develop a perform plan for the mother having children with CHD had undergone totally corrective cardiac surgery.
