Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 通訊工程研究所 === 97 === Along with the coming of the internet generation, the broadband access becomes increasingly ubiquitous. It is no longer only limited to home or office use, mobile broadband has gradually come into use, too. It is estimated that by the year of 2012 broadband users will reach 1.8 billion, 2/3 of which will be the consumers of mobile broadband. Furthermore, most of them will enjoy the services provided by the HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) network. People nowadays are able to use notebooks equipped with the function of 3G wireless networks to browse the internet or send e-mails. This can be done by replacing the traditional fixed DSL modem with a modem or a USB transceiver. With the advancement of the 3G network technology, sending and receiving video or music through a 3G mobile phone provides the user with an even richer enjoyment. Moreover, the HSPA technology will push the higher demand 3G applications, such as interactive TV, mobile video Blog, high-end video games or professional services, to another new level. In this paper, the research was mainly conducted by the field measurement and communications between devices. It analyzes the 3G data communications equipment used by current users, as well as the performance of the latest HSDPA network provided by the telecom operators and the accomplishment of HSDPA through the 3GPP specifications. By comparing the measurement of communication network provided by domestic telecom operators with the actual validation of 3GPP specifications, the findings are shown as below: 1. Telecom system operators have continuously improved the performance of HSDPA network. They integrate it with the products produced by various communication manufacturers in order to provide customers with the best network transmission speed. 2. The original download speed for 3G (WCDMA) network system is 384K bps whereas the performance of today's latest HSDPA network can be up to 7.2M bps. In terms of the scale, HSDPA network performs far better than 3G (WCDMA). 3. The performance of HSDPA measured by the radio simulator test differed greatly from that measured under the actual network mode. The reason is that when users download data from the actual network, the variations caused by the wireless environment and the resources allocation of the platform influence the actual download speed. But overall, the HSDPA performs far better than the 3G (WCDMA).
