HDMI and DVI is a high speed connector used in HDTV. The second part is to explain the theory of TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) and the time to frequency domain theory. The third part is the comparison between simulation and measurement of HDMI and DVI cables. We use TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) to measure impedances and S parameters of HDMI and DVI cables and use CST (electromagnetic simulation package) to simulate the impedances and S parameters of HDMI and DVI cables. We compare differential impedance and S parameters. The results are the same. The fourth part is analysis the characters of HDMI and DVI cables by Proximity field, skew and crosstalk of HDMI and DVI cables. We measure and simulate of HDMI and DVI cables by proximity field with test fixture. We can observe the cable shielding is excellent and the cable radiation effect is very small. We measure and simulate of HDMI and DVI cables by skew analysis. We can observe skew effect is very small. We simulate of HDMI and DVI cables by crosstalk.
