碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 博物館學研究所 === 97 === The successful launching of an exhibition, the sound management of a team, the meticulousness of artifact conservation, and the specifics of design aesthetics share an inseparable relationship. This thesis uses the National Palace Museum’s 80th anniversary annual special exhibition “Grand View—Northern Sung Painting and Calligraphy, Ju Ware from the Northern Sung Dynasty, and Sung Dynasty Rare Books,” which was unveiled after the Museum’s reopening, as a case study. Through literature reviews, it attempts to give a comprehensive evaluation of how the NPM, after its reconstruction, emphasizes functionality in the planning of exhibition space and its approach to developing a special exhibition. An analysis of the development process of the “Grand View” exhibit was also made. In addition, it uses feedback from visitors and tour guides to inspect the NPM’s concepts in exhibition development. It further proposes suggestions to alleviate the discrepancy of feelings about the exhibition between the exhibition organizer and Museum visitors. According to literature reviews and case studies, the development team’s main focus is on guaranteeing the safety of artifacts and the exhibition’s academic presentation when planning an exhibition. However, the suggestion forms and questionnaires filled out by visitors and the comments of tour guides show that their main concern is the ambiguity of the tour route and the density of the artifacts, resulting in problems such as congestions and the difficulty of maintaining order within the exhibition space. These findings show that during the planning of an exhibition, the development team did not have a full grasp of the needs of the audience. Therefore, the research seeks to find ways to improve the NPM’s traditional exhibition development team, and to conduct planning and discussions based on the needs of the audience. This study reached the following conclusions: 1. The museum must make a concrete analysis of the specific types of exhibition. Then, with the use of various exhibition modules of different arrangements of the exhibition area, the museum may ease the problem of space distribution and navigation path confusion. 2. The museum must first have a comprehensive understanding of the visitors’ needs and strengthen the professionalism and ability of the team, in order to realize the communication and operation of a team of researchers, educators, and designers. 3. The museum should regularly provide training related to exhibition planning within the museum.
