With all the literature review and the relevant theories, the researcher established a theory framework and then handed out a self-designed questionnaire on “Questionnaire Concerning the Role Stress and Job Satisfaction among the General Affairs Directors at public elementary schools”. 322 valid copies of finished questionnaire were collected and analyzed by ways of reliability analysis, item analysis, Cronbach α validity analysis, factor analysis, descriptive statistics, t test, and one-way analysis of variance, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, multiple stepwise regression analysis, etc. Conclusions based on the study were made as follows: 1.Role stress felt by general affairs directors in Taipei County and Taipei City was graded as lower intermediate level. And among the four aspects mentioned above, the stress feeling of “quantity role load” was rated the highest. 2.Job satisfaction felt by general affairs directors in Taipei County and Taipei city was graded as higher intermediate level. And among the four aspects, “administrative supervision” was rated the highest. 3.The overall role stress among general affairs directors in Taipei County and Taipei City didn’t make much difference because of their gender, age, marital status, education background, years of service and school size. 4.Role stress was more intensely felt in Taipei City than in Taipei County. 5.The “overall job satisfaction” of directors of general affairs at elementary schools in Taipei County and Taipei City didn’t make much difference because of their gender, age, marital status, education background, serving years and school size. 6.Job satisfaction was better felt among married general affairs directors in Taipei County and Taipei City. 7.Job satisfaction was better felt among general affairs directors in Taipei County than those in Taipei City. 8.The role stress and job satisfaction of directors of general affairs at elementary schools in Taipei County and Taipei City presented a negative relationship in general. 9.The “quantity role load” and “role ambiguity” of directors of general affairs at elementary schools in Taipei County and Taipei City were presented as prominent predictive indicators to “overall job satisfaction”.
